Q: So, I'm confused. What exactly is this?

The Parlour is a live narrative puzzle card game, a game which tells stories through room elements and puzzles, like a traditional "escape room," but with special "cards" and theatrical elements thrown in to really bring the story to life.

We can’t give too much away. But, we put you and your friends in a room. You will play a "card game." This card game will yield puzzles. These puzzles will yield fragments. Fragments will yield more cards, letting you play the game better. And so on.

The Parlour is iterating on the concept of an escape room, we call it a "real-world game and theatrical immersion." Be prepared for something similar to The Study, our flagship escape room, but with a different style of play. We were the first company to bring escape rooms to San Diego and have learned a great deal from our experience. Fans of escape rooms will be very pleased.


Q: Can you tell me what the objective of The Parlour is, if it isn't an escape?

Your objective will be to discover what you can in the time you have, however long you chose that to be. There is a story which is coming to life in the universe you are exploring.


Q: Do we have to mingle with strangers?

No. Like all of our immersions The Parlour is private and for your group only. The only people in the room will be people you bring.


Q: Is The Parlour "just a card game" ?

In the same sense that that thing in your skull is "just a ball of fatty meat."


Q: Can we play The Parlour more than once?

Absolutely! The Parlour, unlike escape rooms, is designed to accommodate repeat plays.


Q: How physically demanding is this?

Nothing physically demanding will occur outside of sitting and exploring the room. No intensive athleticism required for this room!


Q: How much does it cost?

The Parlour costs $35 a person for an hour. Add $19.00 and you'll get more puzzles for a half hour. And, if you want as many puzzles as you can handle, add just $25.00 and you'll get another whole hour of puzzles.


Q: How much time should we choose? What do you recommend for the duration?

This depends on several factors, including the number of people in your team, your personal pace, etc. If you feel like you have you are ready to jump into gameplay, one hour will suffice. If you want to absorb the atmosphere and story a little more, than the longer sessions (either 1.5 or 2 hours) may be better for you.


Q: How many people can play at one time?

2-6 players. We suggest 3-5 for the optimal experience.


Q: Is The Parlour family-friendly?

Although nothing in The Parlour is sensitive material for children, we do recommend that players be at least 13 years of age. If you really want to bring your (well-behaved) little ones to play, we won’t restrict that. The age limit is just to ensure that the elements of story and nuance don’t go over the players’ heads. (Granted, we can’t guarantee this with many grown adults, so... just make sure your team is full of people who can pay attention.)


Q: Is there any possibility of having larger groups (6+) go through the room?

Absolutely. The maximum The Parlour can accommodate is 6 people at a time due to the unique nature of the game. However, you can split your larger group into separate teams and play separate sessions back-to-back. There is no extra charge for that service.


Q: Can The Parlour accommodate corporate groups or team building events?

Of course. We here at Streeper Industries are fans of forced corporate interaction. If you are planning to book a corporate event, please contact us directly (either by e-mail, phone, or LiveChat) so we can assure that your booking works best for your team.

Additionally, we can provide a Team Analysis of your team(s) for a small additional fee.


Q: Can I change my group size after I book?

Of course. We can accommodate changes in your group size either beforehand or at the front desk at the time of your booking.


Q: How does booking work?

The most convenient way, since you are currently reading this on our website, is to visit the "Booking" page (located on our main menu at the top of the page).

Q: What happens if I’m late?

Although we have half-hour buffers in between sessions, we ask that you please arrive on time (which is 15 minutes before your scheduled booking). This is to assure that your payments and team details are in order and that the room is set for your group.

If you do believe you are going to be late to your booking, please let us know as soon as possible via phone. This way we can prepare for your session to run later than usual.

You will still have your full booking time even if you arrive late (within limits). If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we unfortunately have to cancel the booking and refund your payment.


Q: What is the Cancellation Policy?

If you cancel more than 24 hours ahead of time, you'll get your deposit back and you can try again later. (Be sure to call or email us though: sometimes there is a problem with automatic refunds and we have refund you manually.)

...If you fail to show up for your booking or cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time, then you rob someone else of the chance to visit, making you a bad person. We don't like bad people, so to prevent this we have a $30.00 proof-of-not-being-a-bad-person fee, also known as a deposit. If you cancel your booking at the last minute or don't show up, we take your fee and don't give it back, because obviously as a bad person you would do something mean with the $30 anyways, like buying kittens to drown or something.


Q: Is the Parlour scary?

No more so than The Study.

Also, no.


Q: Do you have any tips?

There's no need to panic. Really. Calm down. You’ll have plenty of time to solve things at your pace. Get lost in the story. Learn something. It’s the whole point of the game.
